Industrial Electrical Contractor in CT
My name is Benjamin Fidanza and I own Clydesdale Electrical Services. I grew up in Prospect, Connecticut and was a part of the first graduating class at Woodland Regional High School in 2004. After graduation, I went straight to Lincoln Tech in Shelton to start my electrical journey.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with some of the best electricians that the state has to offer. Here are few of the opportunities I came across with them:
I had a chance to work on the Groton Sub Base, at the US Coast Guard building, at Electric Boat and hook up the shore power in/on the pier at Fort Trumbull for the USCGC Eagle to tie into.
I have been on top of the high rises in Stamford and down in the dirt when buildings at Harbor Point were still just a dream on paper.
I spent time with the road crews in the trenches to help install and wire the street lights above route 72 and other small highways in the area for millions of people to enjoy.
I got to see behind the seen view of multiple big box retailers. I got to be a part of a crew who remodeled 42 stores in 16 weeks. I got to travel around New England and see what it takes for the large stores operate efficiently. I was a foreman at the TJ MAXX in Enfield and got too see the store come from an empty space into a store full of happy shoppers and employees..
This past summer I helped a local mechanical contractor replace all the HVAC equipment for the gymnasium at Woodland Regional High School. I was responsible for all the demo work, low voltage controls, and bringing power all the back to the new components that go along with it.
If you own a Ruger 10-22, I got to help a local company make room for and upgrade the machines moving from Derby to Hamden that manufacture the front sight with precision.
If you serve in the military, I get to help keep the machines and plating lines going that make the dress button you wear with pride. I love handing out American Flag pins that are made in America and made with the equipment I get to help maintain.
I was given the opportunity to design, build, and hang all three of the light fixtures for Mikro in Hamden. The three custom lights are made from the old train tracks and spikes I found while I was the foreman on that project. The wood pieces used were also from the old train station.
If you own a Colt 1911, I recently helped another local machine tool repair shop refurbish and rewire a 42” Blanchard rotary surface grinder that puts the beautiful swirl finish on them.
If you are a registered voter in Connecticut, our ballots come from a local printing company. I helped move a few machines and hooked up the new printers that will be pumping out the new ballots that everyone will use to vote with.
I love manufacturing and the delicate line between production and chaos. My favorite show has always been “How It’s Made”. Now I get to see that in person everyday. I get to help some of the most brilliant people CT has and help keep their machines running. I equate old machines to classic cars, if the next generation doesn’t learn them, we won’t have them. I went out on my own in 2021 with the goal to help manufacturing facilities and business owners.
I work by myself, and would love to help more local manufacturing facilities. I can only help so many facilities in order to deliver a level of service my current clients are used to.
Ideal clients typically operate around $1-10 million a year and are located between Hamden to Newington and Watertown to Seymour. I generally stay within a 30 minute radius from Prospect and supply houses in order to help serve our clients faster.
I can’t compete with the larger shops who have more manpower and resources, but I have replaced more than a few of them in over a dozen manufacturing facilities with my level of knowledge and customer service. If you are looking to build a relationship that could span over the next 20 years, give me a call, together we can bring manufacturing back to America!!
